Overwatch

Overwatch assigns players into two teams of six, with each player selecting one of 24 pre-defined characters, called heroes, each with unique movement, attributes, and abilities, whose roles are divided into four categories: Offence, Defence, Tank, and Support. Players on a team work together to secure and defend control points on a map or escort a payload across the map in a limited amount of time. Players gain cosmetic rewards that do not affect gameplay, such as character skins and victory poses, as they play the game. The game was initially launched with casual play, with a competitive ranked mode, various 'arcade' game modes, and a player-custom server browser subsequently included following its release. Additionally, Blizzard has developed and added new characters, maps, and game modes post-release, while stating that all Overwatch updates will remain free, with the only additional cost to players being micro-transactions to earn additional cosmetic rewards.

Battlefield 1

Similar to previous entries in the series, Battlefield 1 is a first-person shooter that emphasises teamwork. The game is set in the period of World War I, and is inspired by historic events. Players can make use of World War 1 weapons, including bolt action rifles, automatic and semi-automatic rifles, artillery, flamethrowers, and mustard gas to combat opponents. Melee combat was reworked, with DICE introducing new melee weapons such as sabres, trench clubs, and shovels into the game. These melee weapons were divided into three groups: heavy, medium and light. Players can also take control of various armoured vehicles, including light and heavy tanks, armoured trucks, cars, torpedo boats, biplane aircraft, an armoured train, reconnaissance vehicles, a Dreadnought and an LZ30 airship, as well as ride horses into battle. Destructible environments and weapon customisation, features present in the previous games, returned in Battlefield 1 and are more dynamic.

Dark Souls III

Dark Souls III is an action RPG played in a third person perspective, similar to previous games in the series. Players are equipped with a variety of weapons to fight against enemies, such as bows, throwable projectiles, and swords. Shields can act as secondary weapons but they are mainly used to deflect enemies' attacks and protect the player from suffering damage. Each weapon has two basic types of attacks, one being a standard attack, and the other being slightly more powerful that can be charged up, similar to FromSoftware's previous game, Bloodbourne. In addition, attacks can be evaded through dodge-rolling. Bonfires, which serve as checkpoints, return from previous instalments. Ashes, according to Miyazaki, play an important role in the game. Magic is featured in the game, with a returning magic system from Demon's Souls, now known as "Focus Points" (FP). When performing spells, the players' focus points are consumed. There are two separate types of Estus Flasks in the game, which can be allotted to fit a players' particular play style. One of them refills Hit Points like previous games in the series, while another, newly introduced in Dark Souls III, refills focus points. Combat and movements were made faster and more fluid in Dark Souls III, with several players' movements, such as backstepping and swinging heavy weapons, able to be performed more rapidly, allowing players to deal more damage in a short period of time.

Star Wars Battlefront II

Instead of the paid Season Pass downloadable content (DLC) seen in the 2015 predecessor, this game is expanded with free DLC provided to all players with a free EA account. Lead actor Janina Gavanka stated that the DLC would be free to all players, using a seasonal structure similar to Overwatch and Rainbow Six Siege. There are many playable heroes from each movie era, including : Luke Skwalker, Boba Fett, Yoda, Darth Maul, Han Solo, Rey, Kylo Ren, Finn, and Captain Phasma although both Finn and Captain Phasma will be released in a wave of content after the initial release. The planet to be released alongside them is named D'Qar, seen in all of the Resistance Base scenes of The Force Awakens. The game will be heading back to its predecessor's styles of having campaigns, rather than being focused solely on multiplayer. The game's singleplayer protagonist, Iden Versio, played by Janina Gavanka, will be participating in the events leading up to The Force Awakens. There will be segments in the campaign where the player will be able to control characters such as Luke Skywalker and Kylo Ren.
